Sick Kids....

Today I took Owen and Mason to the doctor.  It was a crazy morning getting both kids out of the door bye 8:30AM.  And by some miracle we managed to be on time! I had to get both kids undressed so that they could weigh and measure them.  Owen decided to lose his mind when the put him on the scale and kept trying to dive off the table while screaming mom…mom! The nurse said that it was normal for his age to act like that.  But I think she was just being nice.
When we went back in the room to wait for the Doctor, Owen decided he was happy again and started pushing the chair around the room to climb on top of the tables with a the doctor tools on them.  He was very proud of himself at this point.  And just kept looking at me and laughing.  He was still giggling when I got him down and went right to the next thing he could find that he wasn't supposed to touch.  Which just happen to be a garbage can that had a big orange sticker saying hazard on the top of it. Finally the doctor came and to talk with us. So that helped tame Owen a little bit.  The doctor informed that Owen had lost a little bit of weight.  And I knew it was because he had been sick.  And when he’s sick I can’t get him to eat very much of anything.  He told me to try giving him more milk throughout the day.  I feel that was the doctor’s way of saying you need to follow your kid around and feed him more MILK AND GRANOLA!!!  Ha  ha just kidding I’ll never do that again!  Mason weighed just right for his age at 11.5 pounds and while I’m so happy that he is growing big and strong.  It makes me so sad that he’s isn't the little six pound 12 ounce new born that I brought home from the hospital anymore.  He is growing so quickly and feels like I’m not able to savor in every moment as much as I would like.  It’s just happens so quickly!!!  Although I would love for each little moment to last forever it is too much fun to see him grow.  He is always smiling and trying to talk to me even in the middle of the night. I love it!!!
After the doctor left he sent the nurse in to give the kids there shots!  This is the worst part of well-baby checkups.  I can’t tell you how much I hate it.  Every time we go for a checkup I go in the office with a healthy baby and come out with a sick one.  This time was the worst because Owen already had a stuffy nose.  So by the end of the night he was breathing funny and we had to do treatment to help him breath throughout the night.  Not only was he sick all night long but Mason wasn't too happy about the situation ether. He would cry every time I touched his legs.  It was so sad and made it a little tricky to change his diaper.  Because both kids were not feeling well they were in and out of our bed all night long.  And while it is a little squishy to have four people in one bed Owen cuddled up next to Michael is one of the cutest things in the world!!!! Owen sits there and pats Michael's face with his hand like he’s the one trying to calm him down to go to sleep.  He is one of the most loving little kids.  Where ever we go he is always so friendly to people and says hi and gives all of their kids hugs.  We went to the playground the other day.  Owen kept going up to one of the other moms and talking so her and giving her hugs.  I wasn't quite sure what to do because he just keep going over to her and acting like they were best friends. But I had to do something. So went over and became friends with her so I wasn't as weird that my son kept acting like she was his mom.  I mean seriously!!! I’m you mom Owen come give me random hugs!!! I’m don’t I get any credit for loving you ever second of you little life???? I guess only time will tell…..

I forgot about thanks giving?????

I try so hard to be on top of thing in my life.  But between all the cleaning, nursing, taking Owen to play with friends and trying to spend as much time with Michael when he’s not at school studying as possible. I tend to be a little forgetful and start slaking on my blog! Not to mention the fact that it takes me like a week to write it and put pictures up!!! It seems as though every time I start someone needs me.  Or Michael needs the computer for school.  And beside that after the kids finally go to bed for the night I only have two or three hours of free time until Mason’s hungry again.  So the point is…. I’m not the most consistent blogger.
So here’s my flash back of Thanksgiving.  It actually turned out to be more fun than I thought it would it be. I was defiantly a little bummed that we weren't going to be with family for thanksgiving. But mike just had too much studying to do for finals.  Even though he had the week off he was still gone everyday studying.  But it was nice to have him around at night because he didn't have any homework.
We were invited to have dinner with Colt and his wife that Mike met up at law school. They are form UT as well so we have a lot in common. Shauna and I have gotten together a few times so that our kids could play.  She is super nice and misses her family just as much as I do.  Most of the students that are in law school with us are form Boise.  So they all want to live there or in Washington.  So a lot of the friends that I've made here probably won’t live close to us in the future.  So it always fun to meet people that will still be close with when we move back home.
Shauna is an amazing cook.  And I have to be honest.  Cooking is not one of my best talents….  It is still a very hit and miss situation with me.  But I got lucky because she likes to cook. So she asked if it would be OK if she made the turkey and gravy and pretzel jello salad.  I was so happy that she wanted to make the biggest part of the meal.  So I very kindly asked if I could bring all the easy stuff like rolls a green salad, dessert and stove top stuffing. Which I bought already made and ready to go other than the stove top.  But I will say Mike totally stepped up to the plate and made Jennifer’s grandmother slush. And it was so delicious!!!!
It nice so have a real dinner on thanksgiving I didn't think we would really do much of anything but just hang out together.  Owen had so much fun.  He thinks there oldest daughter is hilarious.  There oldest daughter is three and can read short sentences!!! It kind of makes me feel like I’m failing as a mother on some level.  And the other little girl is almost one and has one of the cutest smiles!!!  She is the shortest little one year old I've ever seen.  And it’s so funny to watch her walk around.
Thanksgiving was a totally success if you ask me. Mike took the day off which was the best part because I was starting to forget what he looked likeJ

Michael gave Owen a hair cut. Turned out super cute!

 I'm so Sleepy...

He loves when Dad plays the guitar!
