Christmas 2011!!!!!

I haven’t been so excited for Christmas since I was a little kid. But this year was too much fun.  Between Owen and Michael I couldn’t wait for them to open all of their presents.  This was the first year Michael had surprises to open up.  I usually tell him everything he’s getting and show him before I wrap it up.  I just get too excited!!!   And if you know me at all you know I can’t keep a secret for the life of me.

Watching Owen open his present was so fun!!!  Even though he had no idea what was going on.  And of course he loved the wraping paper more than anything else.  Luckily Owen had some helpers to help him open everything (Roman Noah and Mally).

Christmas this year was so special and we were lucky to be able to spend it at grandma LouAnn’s house for one more year.  I think it’s so special that Owen has gotten to spend so much time getting to know his Grandma so well.  They defiantly have a very close bond with one another.   And one more thank you to grandma LouAnn for letting my parents come and spend Christmas Eve dinner with us as well as the morning.  It was so fun to have both of our parents there to watch our little Owen open each present.

It really was such an amazing Christmas for our little family.  And I can’t help but be grateful for what Heavenly Father has blessed us with.   Just last year we were waiting for Owen to arrive.  And now that he’s here with us it’s as if he’s always been here.  It’s so crazy how quickly life changes and I can’t wait for next year.  I know it’s just going to get better and better!!!

We’re moving

Michael and I have been given an opportunity to work in Washington D.C. for the next several months.  It will be a good way to save some extra money for Law School and will be a fun adventure.  We will be working for my sister’s husband so they will be able to come see us a lot.  It will defiantly be a challenge to not be close to family.  But we know that this will be an experience that we will never forget.

I’m always up for an adventure and it will be fun to be our own little family again.  But I would be lying if I said I wasn’t sad to say good bye to our family and friends.  When I called my Mom to tell her that we were moving she immediately started to cry.  I thought the phone had dropped our call when I realized that she was trying to hide that she was crying.  My mom is always thinking of everyone but herself and didn’t want to make me sad.  It will be especially hard to be away from my Mom and Dad.

We are lucky to have such a close family they really are our best friends.  We always joke around that we don’t have any friends because we only hang out with our family.  But it’s because they are our friends….. But let’s be honest there the only one that will put up with us and all of our crap!  I know we will miss and think about them every day.  And for sure Owen will miss his cousins.  It makes me want to cry just thinking about taking him away from his little Mally.  She really is little mommy to him and he lights up whenever she’s in the room.

We will for sure be sad to say good bye for a while...   But we are super excited to move on to the next step in our lives together, make new friends, and see a little bit of the world out side of Utah.  I know that over the next few years as we work and go to school we will grow and became the family that we are supposed to be.  It will be fun to see all the opportunities that we will find.
