The past couple of months have gone by so fast. It has been a combination of amazing and yet
so hard at the same time. Mason is
getting big even quicker than Owen did. He has started smiling which is so
amazing. It is so rewording when he gets
excited to see me. It makes all the late
nights and crazy days so worth it. He is
such pleasant little person. And it is so
fun to see his little personality start to show. Owen loves Mason and is so cute with him 95
percent of the time. But there is that
other 5 percent of the time where Owen has a hard time understanding why Mason
demands so much attention from me. I
always have Owen sit next to me while I’m nursing Mason or just holding
him. We read book or play games on the
Ipad. And when Mason falls asleep I try
to give Owen my undivided attention. But
sometimes I guess it’s just not enough.
And he tries to hit Mason. And
all I want to do is get mad at him and yell.
But I know that he is just trying to figure things out. I wish I could just explain to Owen how much
fun he will have with Mason once he can laugh and play a little more. But I know it will happen soon enough. And for the most part Owen is really good
with the baby. And they are both very
patient with me. Especially When Mike is
gone so much lately. The days have been
really long. I can usually keep things
under control the first half of the day.
But the second half everyone starts getting pretty antsy. Including me, sometimes I just want one second
to even go to the bathroom by myself. I
not sure what it is about Michael being gone but when It’s just me and the kids
Owen wants to be right next to me. And
of course Mason does as well. But when dad is home he couldn’t care less. I do have to say that Owen and Michael are so
adorable together and I love that he loves his dad so much. Michael always knocks on the door when he
gets home so that Owen will come and get it.
So during the day randomly Owen will go knock on the door put his hands
in the air and say (Where’d he go). He
also does the same thing when we are waiting in the parking lot for Mike to get
out of school. So adorable!!!
Mike has had to be gone a lot getting ready for finals and
everything. He is working so hard and
I’m really proud of him. Not only is he
doing well academically but he extremely well liked up at the law school. Whenever we take him lunch everyone knows who
we are and wants to see Mike’s cute kids.
People are always telling me how funny he is. And I’m always telling
them to give it time it will where off.
Ha ha anyone that knows me knows that I’m the first person to laugh at
Mike at any given moment in time. That’s
probably one of my favorite things about him.
He has such a fun sense of humor and is so fun to be around. He makes people feel good about them selves. That’s why where ever he goes everyone wants
to be his friend. He always teases me
and tells how lovable he is. And I hate
to admit it. But he kind of is... There no doubt in my mind that his sense of
hummer and ability to become friends with people is what will and does make him
so successful in life. I wish I could hide this blog from him. Because if he knows I feel this way I will
never here the end of it!!!! I can already picture him walking around the house
doing annoying things just to bug me and him saying but I’m lovable. I’m totally in for it!!!!
On a slightly less damaging note to my immediate future. Lots fun things have been happening around
here like Halloween and Grandma Anderson came to visit. Halloween was awesome this year because Owen
actually understood what to do. It was
the cutest thing I’ve ever seen in my life!!!
Watching him run around knocking on door and just taking candy for
people was priceless. They would open
the door and Owen would imminently start saying and signing please… please…
please!!! Then after they gave him his candy he would put it in his bag and
just stare at them like you still have candy why aren’t you giving it to
me. It was hilarious. But the thing that made it even cuter was his
costume. He was the Grim Meeper. Which if you were around when Owen was
born. You know that for the first few
months of his life he would meep at us which sounded a lot like a little puppy
crying. It was adorable…until he started
screaming!!! So we always called him
meeper. His costume was hit everywhere we
went. People wanted to take his picture
and they even gave him extra candy. But
that might have been due to the fact that he would just stare at them with his
big blue eyes and very nicely say pleeeease!!! Then he would walk away waving
and saying good bye. It was seriously so
much fun! I can’t wait to see what it will be like with both boys.
The week after Halloween we had a very important
visitor! Grandma Anderson came to see
us. It was so awesome to have the extra
help with the boys and around the house.
I was able to get so much done. I
even got to take my shower in the morning time which always makes me very
happy. And LuAnn is amazing and helped me
organize the kitchen. It all started
when I made a quick run to the store.
When I go back she had had found the measuring tape from the tool box
that she gave us and measured the space between the wall and my washer and
dryer. Then took me to Wal-Mart and
bought us some shelves for extra storage.
It is so awesome to have the shelves there it makes things much more
functional and clean. She also made us
some of our favorite LuAnn meals. These
were obviously a request from Michael.
Because I was planning on making dinner for her since she was the guest
at our house for a change. But I’m not
going to lie it was awesome to have someone else make dinner especially someone
who knows what they’re doing. And it was
fun to learn how to make some of Michael’s favorite meals. The best part of
LuAnn cooking for us was her assuming that I would have some of the regular
ingredients that you would find in an average house hold. For example we went to the store to get some
noodles and cheese. So that she could
make some of her delicious homemade mac and cheese. When we got home and started making it she
asked me where my flour was. I was like
flour??? Like the stuff you use to make bread… oh I don’t have any of
that. She was pretty shocked and made
sure I had flour in my house before she left Idaho. Luckily our favorite neighbor who is a much
better cook then I am was kind enough to give us some flour so that we could make
LuAnn’s yummy mac and cheese.
It has been a very eventful couple of months and now it’s
finally time to come home for Christmas. I can’t believe it almost the end of our first
semester. It feels like we just moved
here and were waiting to meet our sweet Mason.
And now he’s two months old and smiling at us every chance he gets. Owen‘s learning new words every day! It’s so crazy to watch how he figures things
out. It feels like he is always surprising me with how much he really
understands. If every semester is like
this then will be home before we know it.
Even though it’s hard being away from the people we love the most. I know that it will be worth it. We are making friends that I know we will
have in our lives forever. And learning
things we would never have to learn if we weren’t on such a big adventure.
Halloween was crazy amounts of fun with these two!!!
